History Of Libya
Libya was under control of the country of Italy during the times of the Wars. In 1943, Libya became an independent nation but the UN was making steps to make sure that the rest of the world recognized them as a independent nation. The date of December 24,1951 Libya declared independence with support of the UN.
After Libya gained independence many issues became to rise. There was no colleges at all in Libya. With the total population of Libya only had 16 graduates from a college level. 250,000 Libyans were literate. The first oil field in Libya was founded in 1959. The exportation of oil began in 1963. Oil did a lot for Libya economy however Libyans grew angry as the money for the oil poured into the pockets of bigger hands.
Current Situation in Libya
In 2011, Col. Muammar Gaddafi had NATO waging war against him. Libya tension gained greatly within as NATO began coming into the country. The amount of fighting got so bad and so severe that the elections were postponed up to two months.
In October of 2011, Gaddafi passed through the hands of several rebel bands. This ended up in the hands of the National Transitional Council. This council found Gaddafi before the rebels ended up killing him. Within a hour under NTC control, Gaddafi was shot dead. Videos have sown Gaddafi was involved with a knife too.
